Fishmouth Pipe Notching Template Set

This physical set includes six reusable 3D-printed marking templates for producing accurate fishmouth, saddle-notch and tube-coping profiles on round tubing.

Each template corresponds to a different tube intersection angle:

– 15°
– 30°
– 45°
– 60°
– 75°
– 90°

Choose the set that matches the actual outside diameter of your tubing.

How to Use

1. Measure the actual outside diameter of the tubing.
2. Select the matching Pipe OD set.
3. Choose the template for the required joint angle.
4. Slide the template over the tube.
5. Position and align the template.
6. Trace the complete fishmouth profile with a marker or scribe.
7. Remove the plastic template.
8. Cut close to the marked profile.
9. Deburr and refine the cut.
10. Test-fit the tube against the receiving tube before welding.

Important Fit Information

These templates are designed for equal-OD round tube-to-tube joints. The tube being notched and the receiving tube must have the same outside diameter.

Always measure the actual tube outside diameter before ordering. Metric dimensions are the primary reference. Decimal-inch dimensions are provided as a convenient reference and may be approximate.

Tube manufacturing tolerances, welded seams and surface coatings can affect the fit.

Custom Pipe OD

If the required diameter is not listed, select Custom Pipe OD and enter the exact outside diameter in millimetres.

Custom templates are manufactured specifically for the dimension provided by the customer. Production cannot begin until the custom Pipe OD has been supplied and confirmed.

Safety

These products are marking templates only.

Remove the template before using an angle grinder, cutting disc, saw or other cutting equipment. Keep the plastic templates away from sparks, open flames, welding heat and hot metal.

Always test-fit the prepared tubes before tack welding or final welding.
